The drummer Jacob Wagener was born in 2003 in Hamburg Germany. He started playing the drums at the age of 13. With his passion to jazz music and drums, he applied for the Jazz Drums Bachelor at the „Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg“. He started his studies at the age of 18 and he is having Drum lessons from Prof. Holger Nell. Furthermore he worked with Björn Lücker and Marcio Doctor. He has formed two formations „Jacob Wagener Quintett“ and „Jacob Wagener Trio“. Besides that, he has been playing actively in the jazz scene of Hamburg with his own bands and also as sideman since 2021. Beside being active in the local jazz scene, Jacob also played international tours in Turkey and also participated in the BIP Jazz Exchange Project in Siena Italy. On top of that he played on known German Jazz Festivals such as ELBJAZZ Festival and Jazz Open Festival. Now he is playing in the Landesjugendjazzorchester Hamburg.
