The Jacob Wagener Trio consists of Belarusian pianist Kirill Kretsu, bassist Lucas Kolbe, and drummer Jacob Wagener. The young band plays exclusively original compositions. Since all three members compose in very different ways, their program features a diverse mix ranging from groovy pieces influenced by Americana, blues, and folk music to freely improvised passages. What unites their music is the trio’s remarkable transparency—creating an engaging and moving atmosphere through their bold use of silence and a refined sense of dynamics and intensity.
